The governor declares, "Our state is bankrupt," and reveals a staggering 52% tax increase. In response, the residents of Hooterville take drastic action by demolishing the bridge that crosses the swamp, establishing their own kingdom led by King Oliver I. Oliver proudly sports a crown, having consumed the oleo margarine, which he believes grants him royal status.
