On Mac's final day, both Sue and Caroline are grappling with the impending loss. Sue suggests extreme measures, even offering to kill someone to keep Mac in the hospital, while Caroline spends her time nitpicking Sheffield, hoping to convince him to stay. Meanwhile, Martin stumbles upon a personal letter belonging to Guy and learns that Guy is adopted. He discovers that Guy's biological mother, Joanna Peerson, shares a surname with his colleague Joanna Clore. Oblivious to their connection, Guy eagerly accepts one of Mac's challenges to seduce an older woman—Joanna herself. When Martin realizes his half-brother's plan, he hurries to intervene, resulting in a chaotic scene involving a botox mishap, staff fleeing from police in an ambulance, and a dramatic cliffhanger.
