Determined to support Mona through her breakup with Nick, Dee Dee takes it upon herself to be her constant companion. She insists on joining her for an exercise class, but when Mona and Spencer plan a road trip, Dee Dee puts her foot down, fearing for Mona's emotional state. During lunch, the duo bumps into Phyllis and her boyfriend, Ray, a well-known local DJ whom she met after giving a traffic update. Dee Dee invites them to a dinner her parents are hosting to celebrate her internship. Mona eventually sneaks away to meet Spencer, where they share a moment of connection and a passionate kiss, but she quickly pulls away. Dee Dee is taken aback, while Mona insists it felt right. Spencer shares the kiss with Adam, who cautions him about Mona's vulnerability but sees potential in their relationship. At the dinner, Phyllis makes a surprising announcement.
