The Sorceress dispatches He-Man to the Sands of Time to unravel the enigma of a pyramid that mysteriously appeared and just as suddenly vanished. Joined by Ram Man and Orko, He-Man arrives in the desert, where he encounters the villain Lord Masque, who is wreaking havoc in his quest to find the lair of his 'mistress.' Seeking answers, He-Man turns to the Royal Archaeologist, Melaktha, who reveals that a dark fortress once stood in the desert, serving as the domain of the malevolent Goddess Shokoti. Realizing Masque's intentions, Melaktha and his young aide Stanlin join the heroes to further investigate his plot.
