Diablo, Shera, and Rem venture into the plains to experiment with their newly acquired magic. During their practice with Flight Magic, Diablo notices a glowing surge of magical energy emanating from the heart of the forest and rushes towards it. Unfortunately, his spell falters mid-air, causing him to fall. Upon landing, he discovers the Head Priest, Lumachina, in a perilous situation, being assaulted by the Paladin, Gewalt.
