Tonpa quickly surrenders before Bendot can even throw a punch, infuriating Leorio. Tonpa reveals that his true intent is to undermine rookies like them. Meanwhile, Gon faces off against Sedokan, who challenges him to a contest to see whose candle lasts longer. Gon picks the longer candle without realizing it’s soaked in oil, causing it to burn faster as the match progresses. Noticing that his candle is resistant to strong winds, he sets it down and rushes towards Sedokan to blow out his flame. The next bout features Kurapika against Majitani, who suggests a deadly match with no weapons, where one must either die or surrender. Majitani tries to intimidate Kurapika, but he quickly loses when Kurapika triggers a powerful response in him, leaving him seeing red.
