A female inmate insists that Majitani is merely unconscious, leaving Kurapika’s match unresolved. Despite Leorio and Killua trying to convince him, Kurapika refuses to fight someone who’s lost their will. Frustrated, Leorio attempts to resort to majority rule, but finds no support. Meanwhile, Hisoka encounters Togari, a former examiner seeking revenge after Hisoka’s earlier attack. Togari strikes with four crescent blades, but Hisoka swiftly defeats him, becoming the first to pass this phase. Back with the group, they begin to doubt Majitani's true state. The female prisoner then challenges Leorio to a betting game. He wagers ten hours on Majitani being alive and wins, followed by a twenty-hour bet that Majitani is faking.
