At the Parentcraft ante-natal clinic led by the expectant midwife Vicky, four women share their experiences. Yasmin, a first-time mother in an arranged marriage, feels slightly annoyed by her overly doting husband, Dev. Businesswoman Roanna Wilson is entangled in a divorce dispute with her ex-husband Ray but finds joy with her much younger partner, Simon, who is also the father of her baby. Kim Hall navigates her life with partner Susie and her challenging son Jude, while also dealing with the complications of her sperm donor, Susie’s ex Neil, wanting more from her. After two miscarriages, Diane Manning is ecstatic to learn she’s expecting twins, only to be stunned when her desperate husband Rick reveals he’s robbed a bank and is on the run. Meanwhile, schoolgirl Rosie Hutchinson tries to hide her pregnancy from her father but rushes to the clinic when her waters break, leading to Vicky and Kim assisting with the delivery of her baby
