S1E1 The Man Who Became a Kaiju

Kafka Hibino has nearly given up on his aspiration to become part of the anti-Kaiju "Defense Force." Instead, he finds himself in Kaiju clean-up, tasked with removing the remains of fallen Kaiju. As he carries out this grim work, he reflects on the past and feels a deep sense of regret over the moments he shared with his childhood friend Mina Ashiro, who now leads the Third Division of the Defense Force.
