Episode Overview

Thelma's former spouse, Duke (George Wendt), a seasoned pool player, arrives in town to announce he has turned over a new leaf. Maddie discovers a ring tucked away in Duke's coat pocket and panics at the thought of Thelma possibly rekindling their romance, fearing she might lose her. However, Maddie's worries about Duke's motives are misplaced. At the same time, chaos ensues when a bird escapes inside the apartment, leading to an accident that results in Frank accidentally shattering Maddie's prized Tony Award.
