S1E21 The Big Hat

Big Hat Anderson and Lily Keats have tied the knot, and Frank Tate, the newspaper editor, is humorously presented with the groom's oversized hat as he steps out of the saloon. Tragically, he is shot and killed moments later. Dan takes it upon himself to track down the murderer, beginning his investigation with Lily's past romantic interests. Frank, a familiar face who had always supported Dan and Johnny, has a niece named Julie who arrives this episode to step into his role at the newspaper.
