Following the brutal assassination of his father, Richard Cypher crosses paths with an enigmatic Confessor named Kahlan. She reveals to him an age-old prophecy that designates him as the first authentic Seeker in a thousand years. Teaming up with the wise wizard Zedd, Richard and Kahlan embark on a quest to prevent the merciless Darken Rahl from awakening a long-dormant malevolence. Together, they must navigate treachery and danger to safeguard the realm.
