Kahlan receives an urgent summons to Aydindril, but her wish to remain with Richard creates a split within her—one side embodying her logical thoughts and the other her emotional instincts. As the situation escalates, Richard understands the need to unite these conflicting aspects of Kahlan’s spirit before the rational side, holding Zedd captive, leads to his execution. He must act swiftly to mend the rift within Kahlan and save their friend from impending doom.
