Lost Land of the Volcano (2009)

New Guinea, a rugged tropical island, hosts some of the planet's most unusual wildlife. The team sets up at the base of Mount Bosavi, an enormous extinct volcano cloaked in dense, largely uncharted rainforest. With assistance from local tribal trackers, they embark on an expedition to uncover the island's hidden fauna, and their discoveries are astounding. Wildlife cameraman Gordon Buchanan stumbles upon the nest of the tiniest parrot, while insect specialist Dr. George McGavin encounters a beetle that can talk. The researchers also identify several previously unknown species of frog, gecko, and bat. Adventurer Steve Backshall faces the challenge of living and sleeping underground as he navigates a cave filled with rushing white water. The cameras capture every moment of their sweaty adventure as they gather evidence to help protect this magnificent jungle for future generations.
