Episode Overview

Atticus Freeman, a veteran with a passion for pulp fiction, embarks on a journey from the oppressive Jim Crow South to his childhood home in Chicago, determined to find his missing father, Montrose. He enlists the help of his uncle George and childhood friend Letitia, and together they head to Ardham, Massachusetts, believing Montrose is searching for clues about Atticus' late mother’s heritage. As they travel through the Midwest, the trio faces various threats, particularly as night falls, revealing the lurking dangers that await them.
