Malcolm and Reese scheme to get back at their teenage neighbor after discovering he has deceived each of them into thinking the other is gay. In a separate storyline, Hal grows frustrated with a neighbor who consistently surpasses him in Christmas decorations. To reclaim his holiday spirit, he resolves to create a new "holiday" for his home—Pearl Harbor Day—so he can showcase his own festive decorations.
