However, he becomes so engrossed in the challenging restoration process that he neglects both Stevie and Reese, who is hoping for his help with an illegal betting scheme. Meanwhile, Hal experiences unexpected success as he uncovers a talent for hairstyling. Lois, preoccupied with her own issues, is too busy to focus on Malcolm or Hal. She becomes entangled in a scandal involving Craig and their Lucky Aide boss, Fred, after learning Craig is not just tutoring Fred's wife in golf but is actually having an affair with her.
