After a trip to the doctor, Lois learns she has mono, which she inadvertently passes on to Malcolm when her nurturing side kicks in. This unexpected turn of events leads to both of them being confined to the same room for an entire day and night. Meanwhile, Hal finds himself invited to every neighborhood gathering, taking full advantage of Lois's absence from the social scene.
