Malcolm finds himself anxious about his speech after being named valedictorian of his class. Despite his worries, Lois dismisses his concerns and shares her aspirations for him to one day become President of the United States. Meanwhile, Reese goes to extreme lengths to secure a permanent job as a high school janitor, even going as far as creating an utterly revolting mess. Hal is preoccupied with the costs of Malcolm's Harvard tuition, while Francis lands a fulfilling 9-to-5 job for the first time. The family also welcomes Grandma Ida back as they prepare to bid farewell to Malcolm as he heads off to college.
