In New Mexico, Beau Maverick falls victim to con artists Warren, Crippen, and Warren's granddaughter Rosanne, losing more than $4,500, with $4,000 of that belonging to his friend Jerry O'Brien. Determined to retrieve the stolen money, Beau takes them to court, but they manage to outwit him at every turn. As his repeated failures weigh heavily on him, Beau feels he has tarnished the Maverick legacy—until Rosanne reveals that her grandmother was actually a Maverick, giving him a glimmer of hope and connection to his family’s heritage.
