Mister Rogers' Neighborhood (1968)
S14E15 Mister Rogers Talks About GRANDPARENTS
In a delightful twist, Mister Rogers skips his usual sweater and sneakers, instead serenading a unique rendition of "Won't You Be My Neighbor" as he arrives, inviting everyone to enjoy an opera. He introduces the latest Neighborhood opera titled "A Granddad for Daniel." The story begins on Grandparents' Day, where Daniel Mefford, portrayed by Daniel Striped Tiger, converses with his parents about his grandfather. Daniel's father, Charles Mefford (Neighbor Aber), shares a photograph of his own father while gently reminding Daniel of his grandfather's departure long ago. As both parents head off—Daniel's father on foot to his job as a professional polisher, and his mother (Lady Aberlin) guiding her trolley filled with passengers, including an adventurous straw salesman—Daniel is left to ponder his grandfather's memory.
