After returning to Konoha, teams Kakashi and Guy settle back in. While Kakashi recuperates in the infirmary, Sakura shares crucial intel with Tsunade—information obtained from Sasori after her victory over him. Sasori had arranged a meeting with a spy from Orochimaru's faction in ten days. With six days left, Naruto and Sakura realize they need to enlist a new teammate for the investigation. As Naruto wanders through Konoha seeking a volunteer, he reconnects with familiar faces. Just when Choji decides to join, they are suddenly ambushed by a mysterious Konoha shinobi named Sai.
