Sora struggles as the Nine-tails' chakra surges wildly within him, making it impossible for Naruto and the others to calm him down. Asuma and Kazuma pick up their previous fight, with Kazuma defending his actions as fulfilling his role as a pawn for the "King" of the Fire Country. Despite Naruto's relentless efforts to hold Sora back, he gets knocked down repeatedly, and the chakra begins to affect him as well. Yamato finds himself unable to contain the Nine-tails' power in either Jinchūriki due to an unseen force. As Sora's fourth tail appears, he becomes enveloped in the Nine-tails' Cloak. In a moment of clarity, he sees Naruto stab his own leg, which helps him stave off the full emergence of the Nine-tails' Cloak.
