During a flashback featuring Naruto and Sakura, Team 7 embarks on a mission to return an ostrich named Mr. Ostrich to his home. When they reach a village, they encounter a swordsman named Tsukado, who is on a quest for revenge against Katazu, the man responsible for his distant relative Shikazo's death. After Tsukado's attempt to defeat Katazu fails, Naruto steps in to offer him unconventional lessons on revenge. Meanwhile, Katazu has assumed his brother's identity, drawing Shikazo's pursuers while Kageki and his family hide. Ultimately, Tsukado chooses to end their long-standing feud, despite Kanabun's desire for continued conflict. The swordsmen, Team 7, and Mr. Ostrich unite to drive the Kanabun Gang out of town.
