Tobi makes his way to Hidden Rain Village to claim Nagato's Rinnegan. As he arrives, Konan, now distanced from Akatsuki, reflects on her memories until Tobi interrupts her. He inquires about the whereabouts of Nagato's Rinnegan, to which she responds that it isn't in the village. Their confrontation begins, with Tobi revealing that he inspired Yahiko to create Akatsuki and entrusted the Rinnegan to Nagato. In response, Konan transforms into countless sheets of paper in a self-destructing attack, but it fails, leaving them both unharmed. Konan then unleashes a formidable paper technique, creating a vast sea of paper around them.
