After Sasuke departs with Orochimaru, Naruto refuses to throw in the towel. Fueled by his determination to rescue Sasuke, he heads back to the village alongside Shikamaru and their friends. At the same time, Yahiko emerges in the village, adopting the name “Pain” and plotting retribution for what he perceives as the Hidden Leaf's betrayal.
