Young Gaara feels the sting of his father's disdain and the distance from his siblings, who only play with him until their father intervenes. During dinner, he inquires about his mother and seeks advice on finding happiness. His uncle suggests that the moon lifts his spirits when he’s down, and Gaara finds solace in this idea. Meanwhile, a youthful Shikamaru struggles to stay awake during class and faces punishment alongside Naruto and Choji for disrupting the lesson. They connect while waiting in the hallway and later spend time together after school. Shikamaru criticizes Naruto for standing up for Hinata against bullies, while they all share a laugh at Ino’s expense after she’s turned down by Sasuke.
