In the year 5012 AD, extraterrestrial beings, referred to as aliens, launch a sudden invasion of Earth. Humanity is forced to flee to the moon as a relentless battle rages on between androids and machine lifeforms. Fast forward to 11945 AD, the 243rd Descent Operation is underway. YoHRa soldiers 2B and 9S embark on a mission to reclaim Earth. While navigating the City Ruins, they receive a distress signal from the Resistance about a missing android. Suspecting a connection to their current directive from Command, 2B and 9S decide to initiate a search for the android in question.
