In their quest to uncover the truth behind the mental shutdowns, the group enlists Makoto to retrieve information from Sae's laptop. The following day, they embark on a school trip to Hawaii, where Ren helps shogi player Hifumi Togo. Meanwhile, tragedy strikes when Shujin High School's principal, Kobayakawa, suffers a mental shutdown and is killed after stepping into traffic. Sae’s investigation leads the team to Kunikazu Okumura, who stands to benefit from the victims of the shutdowns. Although the group debates their next move regarding Okumura's Palace, Morgana decides to infiltrate it alone and finds herself in peril, only to be rescued by a mysterious girl.
