S1E24 Behind All Silver, There's a Cloud Lining

Homer Bedloe returns to Hooterville with a renewed determination to put an end to the Cannonball. He suspects that the financial records hold secrets, especially since Charley and Floyd haven’t submitted a report in over a decade. However, his investigation quickly becomes more perplexing than productive. Meanwhile, Uncle Joe is assigned to create a drainage ditch near the tracks. He cleverly promotes a silver-digging event, hoping others will do the labor for him. In a twist, Bedloe starts selling leases for silver prospecting along the route, which would ultimately damage the tracks and disrupt the train service. Sensing Bedloe's ulterior motives, Kate concocts a plan to outwit him yet again, ensuring the Cannonball remains operational.
