S2E8 Betty Jo's Pen Pal

The girls are eager to brush up on their Japanese to make their friend Betty Jo's pen pal, Nobuko Takamura, feel welcome during her stay. Nobuko is in the United States to enhance her English skills for her teaching career back in Japan, and she’s also curious about American traditions. She reveals to Joe that it’s customary for women to handle yard work in Japan, which leads Joe to take advantage of her until Kate intervenes. During a picnic, Nobuko finds herself serving Billie Jo and Bobbie Jo's dates, prompting Kate to explain that men should assist women, a lesson Nobuko quickly embraces.
