S3E16 Better Never Than Late
Uncle Joe promotes Billie Jo's stenography skills to the hotel patrons. Mr. Norton, a businessman, hires her to craft a letter to Frank Mortimer, who has failed to fulfill an order. As Norton dictates a rather critical message, he decides to hold off on sending it until he's back at work. Upon returning, he discovers that Mortimer has actually delivered on his order and even promised more business. However, the letter is mysteriously missing. Norton rushes back to the Shady Rest to find it, only to learn Uncle Joe has already sent it. To retrieve the letter, Kate must navigate a series of mishaps involving Sam, a distracted Floyd, postmaster Foley, and locksmith Tad Fiskee. Despite her efforts, the letter remains elusive, but a well-meaning Floyd might just save the day.
