S3E24 It's Not the Principle, It's the Money
Kate aims to secure a convention for the Shady Rest Hotel, but faces fierce competition from the more modern Pixley Hotel. To attract guests, she enlists Uncle Joe to revamp the hotel’s rooms. Just as she receives a notice of a modest $6 property tax hike, Uncle Joe is outraged and pens a fiery letter to J.C. Albright from the tax review board, demanding a reduction. Albright visits the hotel to address the complaint, while Joe intentionally makes the establishment appear as worn-down as possible. When Mr. Forbes, the convention planner, mistakenly crosses paths with Joe, he opts for a different venue. After sprucing up the hotel, Albright arrives, but Joe mistakenly believes he’s the convention organizer. Ultimately, they lose the convention but manage to secure a tax refund.
