S3E31 Every Bachelor Should Have a Family
Vera Wilson, a widow and Kate's close friend, has been seeing Ronnie Beckman, a bookkeeper who relocated to the valley five years prior. Curious about their future, Kate inquires about wedding plans, but Vera insists their relationship is progressing slowly and she doesn’t want to rush things. While on the Cannonball, Kate encounters Ronnie, who confesses he’s hesitant about marriage because of his lifelong solitude. Floyd suspects there's a mutual attraction between Kate and Ronnie. Ronnie decides to stay at the hotel to experience genuine family dynamics, but when he arrives, the sisters are at odds. Kate insists they must project a happy family image for Ronnie's sake. Uncle Joe expresses skepticism about Ronnie's intentions, thinking he might be after Kate's money. Kate ultimately reveals the truth about their family dynamic, and Ronnie feels relieved, realizing that constant harmony wouldn’t feel authentic.
