On his inaugural day with ARKS, Ash embarks on a quest for self-understanding, haunted by a recurring vision of a woman who speaks of destiny. He is assigned to the Oribe Unit, where he meets Afin, a comrade who insists on referring to him as "partner." Their mission quickly turns perilous when they are ambushed by falspawn, resulting in devastating losses. With the aid of seasoned ARKS members Zeno and Echo, they manage to escape, only to encounter a enigmatic girl with white hair and a masked figure determined to eliminate her.
