Jane faces a challenging beginning in her new role with the New York homicide squad as she probes her colleagues' approach to an enigmatic murder investigation. Frustrated by the lack of cases assigned to her, she approaches her lieutenant to voice her concerns. However, Jane's persistence leads her to discover an unconventional perspective that aids in cracking the case. In the midst of her struggles, she also seeks guidance from her father for support and insight.
