Virginia and Burt confront their feelings of "empty nest syndrome" and consider adopting a dog after Sabrina's suggestion. However, after being rejected by the pound, they are instead given a trial period with a dog named Michael, who soon becomes a bit too comfortable in their home. Meanwhile, Jimmy attempts to demonstrate to Sabrina that he can still be a charming ladies' man, even in the absence of Hope's magnetic presence to help him attract women.
