At Gaojun's urging, Shouxue delves into the mystery surrounding the ghost linked to the jade earring, once owned by Ban Yingnü. A decade ago, she was accused of poisoning the Third Consort and took her own life by hanging. To uncover the truth behind her demise, Shouxue visits the wash house accompanied by her lady-in-waiting, Jiu-Jiu, where they find Ban Yingnü's former attendant, Su Hongqiao. Unfortunately, Su Hongqiao cannot communicate with them, as her tongue has been severed.
