Under the directive of the council of elders overseeing Lugunica during the king's absence, Wilhelm and Felix travel to Roswaal's mansion as representatives. Emilia is urgently needed in the imperial capital, prompting Subaru to request to accompany her. Although Emilia warns him that this journey won’t be enjoyable, Rem and Roswaal's encouragement leads her to consent. Together, Emilia and Subaru set off for the capital, where all the contenders for Lugunica’s throne have convened, and the royal selection process is about to begin.
