In recognition of his bravery in rescuing Princess Flora, Rio is accepted into the primary school at Beltrum Royal Academy. However, he quickly discovers that most of his classmates are from noble backgrounds and treat him with disdain due to his orphan status. Amidst the harsh looks, a kind-hearted girl named Celia, who is only twelve but serves as the school's instructor, takes notice of his struggles. Seeing that Rio can't read, she decides to offer him private lessons after school to help him catch up.
