After serving eight years in Holloway Prison, Dolly Rawlins is finally set to be released. Ester Freeman devises a scheme to retrieve the diamonds Dolly stashed following the nightclub heist and gathers fellow ex-convicts at Grange Health Farm to join her. Meanwhile, Audrey Withey, mother of the late Shirley Miller, holds Dolly responsible for her daughter's death during the robbery and urges her son, D.S. Mike Withey, to pursue charges against Dolly. However, she later reveals to him that she possesses the diamonds herself. Dolly shares her aspiration of creating a home for neglected children and abused women, prompting Ester to propose buying the house, leading Dolly to reach out to the fence.
