Twilight, a skilled agent for Westalis's intelligence agency WISE, is assigned to investigate Desmond, who is plotting to ignite a war in Ostania. To get closer to his target, he transforms into the psychiatrist Loid Forger and adopts a girl named Anya, enrolling her in the elite Eden College. What Loid doesn’t know is that Anya possesses the ability to read minds. When members of a mafia group, seeking revenge on Twilight, kidnap Anya, he begins to reassess his priorities and the lengths he will go to protect her.
