At Dunne Hill Juvenile Detention Center, chaos erupts as inmates seize several guards, initiating a hostage crisis. Unlike typical escapes, these teens aim to draw the attention of a Senator, hoping to advocate for keeping their facility operational and preventing their transfer to a Supermax prison. When Matt jeopardizes his career to support the inmates, he and Emily come to the realization that it's time for them to part ways and explore new relationships.
