The arrival of ex-vicar Lewis Fearns (Roy Herrick) in Whitecross shakes up the community. Charles grows increasingly anxious that Lewis's presence could hinder their efforts to maintain the settlement. He questions whether there’s still a place for God and a revival of faith in their evolving society.
