A wave of excitement sweeps through Whitecross as a hot air balloon floats overhead. However, the mood quickly shifts when the balloon lands and the occupant is discovered dead. Identified as a Norwegian, he is found with items indicating he was surveying the country’s settlements. When Melanie and Alan speak with one of the balloonist's friends, Seth, they uncover that he had been journeying with his daughter, Agnes. Once Agnes arrives in Whitecross, the lives of the survivors are set to change forever.
