When Elaine’s apartment building converts to a co-op, she moves into Bobby's place while he’s away on a theater tour. However, Bobby soon returns after being kicked off the tour for getting involved with the director’s daughter, leading to an unexpected living arrangement with Elaine. A few days later, while chatting with Alex about how much fun she’s having with Bobby, Elaine receives a call from her boyfriend who breaks up with her. Distressed, she leaves, prompting Alex to warn Bobby to be cautious, as Elaine might seek comfort. Later that night, Elaine wakes Bobby for a chat over wine, causing him to mistakenly think she’s making a move. In a panic, he calls Alex, who rushes over in his robe and slippers, having trudged through the snow. Elaine becomes frustrated with their misunderstandings, and realizing their misconceptions, the guys apologize and reconcile.
