After being fatally stabbed by a thug in a city alley, Mikami Satoru opens his eyes to a new reality as a gelatinous creature known as slime. In this unfamiliar realm, he starts to consume unusual herbs and valuable minerals. During his explorations, he stumbles upon Veldora, the Storm Dragon, who has been trapped in a cave for three centuries due to a hero's powerful "Unlimited Imprisonment" spell. Initially intimidated, Mikami soon strikes up a friendship with the lonely dragon as they share their stories and experiences.
