Khali takes a personal interest in the case of Mina Diwan, an assertive 18-year-old from India who has come to Canada in search of her "runaway groom." Anwar Singh, using an alias, has married Mina back in Punjab and swindled her family out of their $50,000 dowry. Refusing to go back to her traditional family, Mina looks to her Canadian relatives for sponsorship, but they disapprove of her independent lifestyle. The ICS discovers that one of Anwar's former brides is missing and feared dead. As Mina goes missing, Khali and the team must act quickly to find her.
