In the inaugural episode, Teresa Colvin makes history as Chicago's first female superintendent, advocating for the establishment of a task force to probe into the corrupt activities of Alderman Ronin Gibbons. Simultaneously, her former partner, the charismatic veteran Jarek Wysocki, delves into a perplexing murder case in Grant Park with his new sidekick, Caleb Evers. Jarek also oversees his niece, Vonda Wysocki, her ambitious partner, Isaac Joiner, and the unsavory Liam Hennessey, an Irish criminal entrenched in the city's underworld. Together, this determined team fights to dismantle Gibbons' corrupt network and restore justice.
