William receives a plea from a mother desperate to rescue her son from a jail in the Inland Empire, and he successfully brings him back. However, the return journey proves challenging as the young man is resistant to turning his life around. Complicating matters further, they cross paths with a 13-year-old courier working for a major drug lord, which escalates the situation and tests William's resolve to help the troubled youth.
